A Taylor man, caught on camera exposing himself inside the Five Below store on South Main Avenue on April 24, faces charges.

It wasn’t the first time Gregory Jenkins had entered the store and exposed himself, according to a criminal complaint.

On April 18, Jenkins came from the restroom with his zipper undone and his private area exposed, store staff said. At that time, however, staff gave Jenkins the benefit of the doubt, believing he might have simply forgotten to zip his pants, police said.

Jenkins, 33, of 1119 S. Main St., faces charges of indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 4 p.m. on April 24, Taylor police responded to the retail store for the report of a man who had exposed himself.

Officers spoke with Five Below Store Manager Sheila Rivera, who said an employee, approached her about 30 minutes earlier saying she “couldn’t believe what she just saw.”

The employee said she had been stocking candles, when a man exposed himself to her. The worker said she recognized the man, later identified as Jenkins, from the previous weekend when he had also exposed himself.

During the first incident, Jenkins was coming from the men’s room and the employee assumed he had forgotten to zip his pants.

A review of security footage showed both incidents, Rivera said.

The video showed Jenkins staring at store employees as he exposed himself, police said.

On May 1, officers were again called to Five Below for the report of Jenkins again behaving inappropriately.

When police responded to the store, Jenkins had left, but shortly afterward Police Chief Brian Holland stopped Jenkins in his vehicle, noting his zipper was still down.

Jenkins remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on May 12 before District Judge Alyce Farrell.
