Millcreek Township residents can expect more reliable water service thanks to newly completed upgrades at the Asbury Water Pump Station. Erie Water Works marked the milestone Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony highlighting improvements aimed at strengthening the area’s water infrastructure.
During the event, Erie Water Works CEO Craig Palmer emphasized that the project represents years of planning and investment.
“This has been a long time coming,” Palmer said, noting the importance of modernizing essential systems to meet growing demand and ensure long-term reliability.
The upgraded station now features a completely new pump system, including multiple pumps designed to improve efficiency and maintain consistent water pressure. In addition, a brand-new electric generator has been installed to keep the facility operational during power outages—an improvement officials say will significantly enhance system resilience during emergencies.
The upgrades are expected to benefit nearly 4,000 residents in Millcreek Township, providing a more dependable and secure water supply.
