WORCESTER, Mass. (KTRE) – Former Central Heights Blue Devil Duke Ellis exploded for four hits and drove in three runs in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s 10-8 loss to Worcester on Thursday night.
The 28-year-old started in left field and batted eighth.
Ellis went 4-for-5 with a walk, three RBI and three runs. In the second inning, Ellis hit a three-run home run, his first of the season, to put the RailRiders up 3-1. In the fourth inning, Ellis hit a leadoff double to right field. He stole third base, his 14th steal of the season, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Anthony Volpe.
This season, Ellis is hitting .289 with seven RBI, 13 runs and 15 stolen bases.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (19-16) and Worcester (20-15) continue their series on Friday.
