Two teenage girls were walking along Doyle Street in Wilkinsburg when a car struck them in a hit-and-run incident, critically injuring 14-year-old Prudence Sibley, whose parents are now seeking justice. “Prudence was crying. She was not moving. She knew she was in pain,” Angela Sibley said. Angela and Jerome Sibley described the harrowing moment they received the call about the accident. “She said we got hit by a car. I just was like, what are you talking about? And I started screaming for him. I was in the car and I hung up the phone. I didn’t even ask where they were. And I called her back and I said, where are you guys? Right down the road from your house,” Angela Sibley said. She has already undergone one emergency surgery and may require additional procedures. “Her bones were sticking out of her skin. I’ve never seen anybody twisted like that before,” Jerome Sibley said. Despite her injuries, Prudence has shown remarkable strength. “She’s a strong girl though. She had all the nurses laughing. I mean, she was laying there on the bed and her bones were out. She was just making them all laugh,” Jerome Sibley said. Mitchell was on the run for approximately 12 hours before being apprehended in Penn Hills. He is now charged with attempted homicide. “We just want answers. And definitely want justice for anything else,” Angela Sibley said.

Suspect crashes into teens
Police say George Mitchell Jr., 43, crashed into the two teens and then drove off.
“She remembers getting hit by a car, and then it happened again. And it sounds like he had turned around and then ran her over after hitting her the first time,” Jerome Sibley said.
