Forest City

“Rocky Horror Picture Show” 50th anniversary: The Forest City Area Historical Society will honor the 50th anniversary of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Saturday beginning at 7 p.m., museum, Main and Dundaff streets. Prop bags will be available or bring your own props to partake in the fun. The society’s concession stand will be open to purchase candy and soda. The movie will be shown on a 9-by-12-foot screen in the museum. Museum will open at 6:30 to explore the exhibits. The museum is open each Saturday through Nov. 29 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to explore the historical exhibits on display. Annual gala: Lackawanna Pro Bono 17th annual gala celebrating 28 years of providing free civil legal services to those in need, Nov. 6, 6:30 p.m., Scranton Cultural Center Ballroom. This signature event brings together members of the legal community, civic leaders and supporters to recognize individuals whose service and leadership have made a lasting impact on their communities. Proceeds from the gala will directly support Lackawanna Pro Bono’s mission: to ensure that individuals facing serious civil legal issues, such as housing, protection from abuse and unemployment compensation, receive high-quality legal representation, regardless of their ability to pay. This year’s honorees, former Congressman Matt Cartwright, Judge Chester Harhut and Dr. Katie Pittelli, will each be presented with the Attorney Robert W. Munley Distinguished Service Award in recognition of their exceptional dedication to public service, justice and community advancement.
