Drinking Water Week wrapped up on Saturday with a community event focused on the importance of clean and safe drinking water.
Erie Water Works hosted its first-ever Drinking Water Festival and facility tours at one of its treatment plants on Sommerheim Drive in Millcreek.
Visitors had the chance to learn how water is cleaned and treated, as well as how it is distributed throughout the region.
The event also featured games, crafts and family-friendly activities designed to promote water education and conservation.
The event comes as Erie Water Works released its 2025 Water Quality Report, which highlights the continued safety of the region’s drinking water supply.
According to the report, the water system continues to meet both federal and state standards.
