FAIRPORT HARBOR, Ohio (WOIO) – The Fairport Harbor Fire Department responded to a water rescue Saturday afternoon.
According to the fire department, the incident was reported at approximately 4:38 p.m., located in Lake Erie off Fairport Harbor.
A kite sailor was unable to make it back to shore due to an equipment issue, and the fire department’s jet ski was deployed to assist.
The kite sailor and his sail were safely brought to shore uninjured, the fire department said.
Multiple departments assisted in the rescue, including Mentor Fire Department, Painesville City Fire Department, Painesville Township Fire Department and Perry Joint Fire District.
