The Lackawanna County commissioners designated March 15-21 as Pennsylvania 4-H Week. 4-H is America’s largest youth development organization, serving some 6 million youngsters nationwide. Locally, the Penn State Extension administers the program in rural areas and small communities, covering subjects such as animal sciences, civic engagement, STEM, and health and wellness. The core of the initiative is to provide opportunities for leadership development, problem solving, career exploration, volunteering and more.
