NORTHAMPTON, Pa. – A 23-year-old man is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in Allentown over the weekend.
The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday in the area of North 11th Street and West Tilghman Street, according to a news release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
The Northampton man was driving a motorcycle that was involved in a collision with another vehicle, the coroner’s office said. He was pronounced dead shortly before 5 p.m. at a local hospital.
The coroner’s office said an autopsy Monday will help determine the cause of death.
The man has been identified, but the coroner’s office said it will not release his identity until after the autopsy is completed and all appropriate notifications and investigative procedures are finalized.
The coroner’s office said it “extends its heartfelt condolences to the decedent’s family, friends, loved ones, and all those impacted by this tragic incident. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time.”
The coroner’s office, the Allentown Police Department, the Allentown Police Traffic Unit, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
