The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania reported Monday that it is assisting six persons displaced by a fire in Sharon Hill.
Fire crews responded to the 200 block of High Street on Sunday evening shortly after 6:15 for a house fire.
According to fire radio traffic:
Police arrived within moments at the two-story twin and relayed that smoke was showing, which was soon confirmed by arriving fire crews.
The fire was soon determined to be in the basement, with a report of water on the fire before the 10-minute mark of the incident.
The incident was placed under control at 6:36 p.m.
Collingdale Fire Company added this:
“First arriving units went on location with smoke showing and reported a possible basement fire. Squad 33 (Dinnella) laid 300 feet of supply line to complete Squad 76’s water supply in the rear. The Squad operated for approximately 45 minutes before returning to the borough.
“This is the second working fire for Company 33 in under 24 hours.“
Board-up was sought for a garage door and three other doors. A fire marshal was summoned to the scene.
