If you were hoping to get into Folino Estate Winery this Mother’s Day weekend, that location is already fully booked.
But in Wyomissing, at Vintner’s Table, there are still reservations available. The restaurant is part of the same Folino family.
“Mother’s Day weekend… it’s one of the largest weekends in all of the restaurant industry,” said Brandon Bunce of Vintner’s Table.
Families are coming together to celebrate.
“Everybody has that special lady in their life that has been there for them,” Bunce said. “And it’s just a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the woman you love.”
For those looking for something beyond the dinner table, there is another option in Boyertown.
At the Colebrookdale Railroad, Mother’s Day becomes a ride through history.
“This is a perfect context for memory-making. People love trains. People love the connection to history,” said Nathaniel Guest, executive director of the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust.
The railroad dates back to the 1800s, with excursions now leaving from Boyertown through what is known as the Secret Valley.
“We’re not only preserving history and presenting history, we’re allowing people to experience what it was like to ride in a heavyweight Pullman car,” said David Duncan, historic railcar consultant and director of cuisine.
This weekend’s menu includes brunch, tea and cocktails onboard.
“It’s an exciting weekend because both Saturday and Sunday we are hosting brunch on the train,” Duncan said. “A lovely brunch menu, freshly prepared.”
