A 57-year-old Scranton man sexually abused a young girl for years and threatened to murder her family if she ever talked, city police said.
Eliceo Ortega-Davila was brought before a judge Saturday. arraigned on counts including child rape, aggravated indecent assault and terroristic threats remanded to the Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
The victim, now 13, kept silent for years out of fear of his threat to harm her family, according to a criminal complaint filed by city police. She came forward earlier this month and spoke with a forensic interviewer at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Ortega-Davila remained locked up Monday. He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled May 22, court records show. It was unclear if he has an attorney.
