PennDOT has announced that over $74 million has been awarded to 72 projects in 38 counties from the Shapiro Administration.
These projects would work to improve create pedestrian and bicycle facilities, improve access to public transportation, create safe routes to schools, create trail projects that serve a transportation purpose, or enhance safety for vulnerable travelers.
The 2025 Transportation Alternatives Set Aside (TASA) funded these projects through the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Surface Block Grant Program.
In Erie County Fairview Township will see upgrades to the Fairview School District area. Including $1.2 million in funding for a new sidewalk along the northside of McCray Road and the reconstruction of the existing sidewalk throughout the Fairview campus.
