The company behind Walkers, Doritos and Pepsi was previously based at Green Park Business Park but has now completed its relocation to two floors of the new One Station Hill development next to the train station.
Jason Richards, general manager of PepsiCo UK & Ireland, said the relocation “marks an exciting new chapter for PepsiCo UK” and praised the building’s design and environmental features.
Staff have now moved over to their new offices and are enjoying the difference, according to Mr Richards.
Their new 8th-floor office features a private terrace, artwork completed by local artist Kev Munday, and an on-site café, restaurant and bar.
Mr Richards said: “The extensive modern facilities have enhanced the whole office experience for our colleagues.” He added that the new space has inspired “more collaborative ways of working,” while also revealing that the building’s “sustainability credentials” were a “key factor” in their decision to move.
PepsiCo was previously based at 450 South Oak Way, Green Park. The large glass-fronted building, recognisable from the M4, occupied 110,000 sq ft of office space.
It is not known what will happen to this empty office, which joins a number of vacant units on the once-bustling business park site to the south of the town. PepsiCo made the decision to move into Reading’s centre after its 10-year lease came to an end.
ONE Station Hill was designed by architect Gensler and constructed by Sir Robert McAlpine for Lincoln MGT. PepsiCo occupies on floors 7 and 8 of the building were designed and delivered by architect and construction partners HLW and Overbury.
It was heralded as a huge “opportunity” for town centre investment, though it was hit with scrutiny after a dramatic fire broke out during construction works in 2023.
A crane driver heroically used his equipment to lift a worker from the rooftop to safety as a fire engulfed the building, in pictures that made international news.
The Health and Safety Executive carried out an investigation into the incident to review safety procedures and issued new guidance to reduce the risk of fires on similar sites.
PepsiCo products are consumed more than one billion times a day in more than 200 countries and territories around the world, according to the company.
PepsiCo generated nearly $92 billion in net revenue in 2024, coming from its countless fast food and drink items including Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew and Quaker.
