EASTON and CATASAUQUA, Pa. – Easton and Catasauqua residents most likely will be writing “2027” on their correspondence by the time they can mail it from their hometown post offices.
Both post offices- 201 Ferry Street in Easton and 205 Bridge Street in Catasauqua- are not scheduled to reopen until the new year, a United States Postal Service (USPS) spokesperson told 69 News.
Both buildings have been closed for repairs following separate, damaging events.
A partial roof collapse at the Catasauqua facility has kept that building closed since June of 2024.
Catasauqua Post Office
Easton’s post office closed in early March of this year following substantial water damage from an unspecified source.
The USPS spokesperson said Catasauqua’s target reopening date is January of 2027.
Repairs in Easton are expected to wrap in the spring of 2027, the spokesperson said.
Mail for Catasauqua residents is currently being rerouted through post offices in Hanover and Whitehall townships; Easton residents have been told to use the Palmer Township facility at 650 S. Greenwood Avenue.
The USPS previously had not provided an update on when Easton’s post office would reopen.
The Catasauqua facility originally had a target reopening set for fall of 2025; that was then pushed to the summer of this year, and then December 2026.
