Members of the Second Brigade Motorcycle Club presented a $450 check Wednesday to the veteran-focused nonprofit Blue Star Mothers of NEPA, which has provided comforting amenities and refreshments for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport’s Military Appreciation Room since 2019. The dedicated room provides military personnel and their families a private space to relax at the airport prior to their flights. The $450 donation Blue Star Mothers of NEPA accepted at the airport Wednesday represents the approximate cost of purchasing refreshments bimonthly, per information provided by the airport. A local chapter of the nonpartisan Blue Star Mothers of America, Blue Star Mothers of NEPA also makes and ships care packages for U.S. troops serving stateside and abroad and supports various local veterans organizations.
