READING, Pa. — Inside Santander Arena, crews are getting everything ready for one of the biggest business events of the year.
The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance annual dinner, now in its 113th year, is bringing together more than 800 business and community leaders.
The night is focused on networking, recognizing local leaders and setting the tone for the future of business in Berks County.
“I really enjoy sharing my stories of things that I learned at NASA,” said former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino. “Hopefully it’ll be entertaining. I’ll try to keep it light because this is kind of a fun crowd, from what I can tell.”
This year’s keynote speaker is former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino, a veteran of two space missions who is now sharing lessons from space with leaders here on the ground.
“Whether you’re an astronaut or you’re a ground controller or an instructor or engineer in the space program, everyone has the same mission,” Massimino said.
His message is focused on embracing change, something he says is critical whether in space or in business.
“I was inspired and very lucky to be an astronaut, and I try to share that as best I can with the audience,” Massimino said.
