Northampton County is looking for six registered voters to serve as poll workers for Tuesday’s primary election.
The county said it is searching for workers after recent cancelations. Poll workers would be placed in areas such as Bethlehem, Northampton, Mount Bethel and Easton.
Poll workers manage the check-in process and would be responsible for closing out the polling place at the end of the night. Anyone interested would need to take a mandatory training scheduled for Saturday. They will be compensated for the training and service, according to a county news release, which states workers earn between $175 and $200 on Election Day, depending on the assignment and training.
Those interested can fill out the Pennsylvania Department of State’s poll worker interest form online here, www.pa.gov/services/vote/apply-to-become-an-election-poll-worker. Anyone looking for additional information can contact the county elections division at elections@norcopa.gov or 610-829-6260.
