A man was arrested Wednesday after officials say he fired a gun at another driver in an apparent road rage incident in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Jaime Alexander Paramo-Zamudio, 36, was arrested on May 13, 2026, and charged with attempted criminal homicide and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting, according to the Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta.

Just after 9 a.m., Bethlehem Police responded to the 3100 block of Linden Street following a report of gunshots fired into a car.

After reviewing video footage from a school bus and a local business, Bethlehem officers learned that the incident began when a black sedan drove in between two cars that were stopped at a red light on Johnston Drive.

The two vehicles were being driven by a woman and her son, identified as Paramo-Zamudio, who were traveling together behind each other, officials said.

Police said after the black sedan cut between them, Paramo-Zamudio got out of his car with a gun in his hand. The black sedan then tried to leave, and officials said that’s when Paramo-Zamudio discharged his firearm.

According to officials, the victim, identified as a 42-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries from the shattered windshield glass caused by the bullet’s impact.

Officials said the victim’s 15-year-old son was in the front passenger seat of the car at the time of the incident.

Paramo-Zamudio was located shortly after the incident and taken into custody.

Officials said the suspect did cooperate with police during the investigation.

Paramo-Zamudio’s bail was denied, and he was remanded to Northampton County Prison.
