A man was arrested in Virginia after being wanted by police for three months after a deadly mass shooting at a birthday party in Philadelphia, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Lawrence Coleman, 25, was arrested for his alleged involvement in a shooting that happened in Philadelphia’s Nicetown neighborhood on Saturday, July 26, 2025, that left two men dead and injured a woman and her seven-year-old daughter.
The ordeal began on Saturday, July 26, shortly before 8:30 p.m. along the 1900 block of West Hunting Park Avenue. Philadelphia Police Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said a birthday party was taking place in the area when at least two men began to argue. The argument then escalated into a fight and women who were at the party joined in.

Officials said, Nyfik Johnson, 29, of Philadelphia, sustained multiple gunshots to his body and head and Quron Ross-Weems, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Both men were taken to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead, officials had said.
A 26-year-old woman and her seven-year-old daughter were transported to a nearby hospital by private vehicle, after police said, they were hurt in the same shooting.
The girl suffered a graze wound to her scalp while her mother was shot in the left arm, police said.
Officials have said that this shooting broke out after an argument erupted during a birthday party.
A second man, identified by police as Lonzell McDaniel, was already arrested for his suspected involvement in this crime.
