Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to investigate after a 5-month-old girl died at a Lancaster County hotel. Troopers said officers were called to a drowning at the Best Western Plus Intercourse Village Inn & Suites on East Newport Road in Leacock Township around 6:04 p.m. on Monday, May 11. The Lancaster County coroner identified the infant as A’zara Beckett of Coatesville, Chester County. The coroner ruled her death accidental and determined the cause was freshwater drowning. State police said Beckett was found unresponsive inside a hotel room and that the incident did not happen in a pool. She was pronounced dead at the scene after unsuccessful resuscitation efforts by first responders, according to the coroner. Authorities said the mother is cooperating with the investigation.
