SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Drivers in Scranton should expect detours and traffic delays as crews work to permanently repair a sinkhole tied to a previous water main break.

North Main Avenue will be closed between Green Ridge Street and Clearview Street beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday through Friday evening, weather permitting.

Officials say the repair is connected to a water main break that was temporarily fixed in April.

While through traffic will be restricted during the work, local access in the surrounding area will still be allowed.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution near the construction zone.
