Doing artistic activities may slow biological aging, just like exercising.

That’s according to a new study published in the journal “Innovation in Aging.”

Researchers in London found that both the frequency with which people engage in the arts, and the different ways they do so, can slow the aging process.

That’s because those activities include sensory stimulation and social interaction.

The study looked at more than 3,500 people and the strongest correlation was found in adults 40 and older.

One of the study’s co-authors stressed that it builds on existing research.
