PALMER TWP., Pa. – Police in Palmer Township, Northampton County say a man and two dogs were rescued from the back of a garbage truck Thursday morning.
Crews responded to a parking lot along the 3700 block of Nicholas Street shortly after 5 a.m., according to Palmer Township Police Sgt. Tyson Unangst.
Unangst said the man and two dogs were inside of a dumpster when the garbage truck picked up the dumpster and placed them into the garbage truck.
The driver of the garbage truck called 911 after hearing a man yelling for help, Unangst said.
Township police said the man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Unangst said the dogs had no injuries.
