A child was playing with a gun in their home when they suffered from a gunshot wound that killed them on Thursday, according to the Upper Darby School District.
The incident unfolded inside a home on Thursday, May 14, school officials said.
The Upper Darby School District says that it is working with the police department as authorities investigate this incident.
The district said that student service professionals will be at Beverly Hill Middle School on Friday, May 15 to offer support for any students who may need it.
No word yet on if anyone else was hurt or if anyone will face any charges yet.
