Pennsylvania is delivering $270,000 to Erie County in efforts to boost apprenticeship program enrollment in childcare. Representative Ryan Bizzaro announced this funding boost on May 14; this funding is a grant through the state’s Foundations in Industry (FIT) program.
This funding will support childcare pre-apprenticeship programs for 30 high school students each year giving them access to employment connections, preparation for necessary credentials, and training supplies.
The FIT program which is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development, assists schools, training centers, and various other organizations throughout the state to support these necessary programs.
