Donna M. Guagliardo
OBITUARY
Donna M. Guagliardo, 67, of Olyphant, passed away peacefully Tuesday at home while holding the hand of her husband Carl, after a fearless 18- month battle with Pancreatic cancer. She and Carl would have celebrated 46 years of marriage in June.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Frank Gosko of Throop and the late Mary Ambrogi Gosko. She was a graduate of Mid Valley High School, Class of 1976, and was a licensed Cosmetologist who owned and operated Casa di Bella Hair Salon in Jessup and later, Peckville, until her retirement in 2020. She and her husband resided in Olyphant for 45 years. She was a member of St. Carlo Acutis Parish in Olyphant.
Donna’s life was defined by her love of family and her generosity and kindness to others. She dearly loved her children and absolutely cherished her four grandchildren, each of whom occupied a very special place in her heart. Beyond family, her sweet and kind spirit extended to anyone she met. She believed that no person was insignificant, and she conducted herself toward others accordingly. Christmas shopping was a 365 day per year event for Donna, who upon return would hide gifts from basement to garage to attic, often hiding gifts so well that they have yet to be found. Donna and Carl were frequent visitors to Walt Disney World where family memories were first created and later relived.
Also surviving are two sons; Brian and wife Crystal, Olyphant and Jeff and wife Tran, Villanova and four grandchildren, her father, Frank Gosko, three incredibly loving sisters, Georgette Treu, Elmira, NY, Deneen Evan and husband Michael, Hanover Twp., and Susan Nafus and husband David, Royersford, Pa and nieces and nephews.
The family extends its sincere thanks to the Surgical and Oncological medical teams at Penn Medicine, Philadelphia as well as to Kishori Veerabhadrappa, M.D. and Jesse Cabana, NP, and the entire laboratory and nursing staff at Hematology Oncology Associates, Dunmore. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the nurses and CNA’s at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Above all, the family thanks Rev. Scott Sterowski for his spiritual guidance, support and friendship during our journey.
The funeral will be held Monday, May 18, with mass at 9:30 at St. Carlo Acutis Parish, St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. Interment, Parish Cemetery. At Donna’s request there will be no public viewing. Anyone attending the funeral Mass is asked to go directly to church. Arrangements are under the care of the Margotta Funeral Home.
