Ferry Street building in Easton painted pink, ahead of its demolition to make way for 7-story mixed-use building | Easton Area

EASTON, Pa. – A building in Easton is being temporarily painted pink ahead of its demolition later this month.

In a Facebook post, city Mayor Sal Panto said the building on Ferry Street will be colored pink until a demo party on May 30, when it will be demolished to make way for new condos that will be built on the site.

A bullseye will also be painted on the building’s south wall, according to Panto.

Panto said the new building will be The Lynden, noting that the top floor condo sold for $ 1.3 million.

More than 50% of the condos are already sold, Panto said.

The Easton Planning Commission granted final approval for the planned new mixed-use building at a meeting in early February.

The proposal called for a seven-story structure at 101 S. Third St., featuring 73 condominiums and more than 2,540 square feet of first-floor commercial and retail space.

The condominiums will be comprised of 15 one-bedroom units, 36 two-bedroom units and 22 three-bedroom units and penthouses, which have balconies. Officials with the application noted there would be a gym and bicycle room on the first floor.
