Erie County Sheriff’s Office to offer License to Carry event

(WJET/WFXP) — A local sheriff’s office is offering a chance to open and renew applications for firearm carry.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office will host a License to Carry event on Wednesday, May 20 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Mellon Heritage Foundation Veteran’s Outreach and Wellness Campus.

The event is open to Erie County residents, both new applicants and those renewing applications that would expire within 60 days.

In addition to being a resident of Erie County, applicants must also have a valid PA driver’s license or PennDOT-issued photo ID with a current address.

PSP to conduct sobriety checkpoint in Erie County

Applications will take place on-site and will cost $20, cash only.

While this event is focused on residents of northeastern Erie County, additional mobile events are planned throughout the county in the future.
