Scranton police arrested a New Jersey woman in a prostitution sting on May 2, according to a criminal complaint.
Nataly Mambuscay-Fossi, 25, of Newark, faces charges of engaging in prostitution, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
According to the criminal complaint, as part of an undercover operation targeting prostitution on a specific website, Scranton Police Street Crimes Unit officers identified Mambuscay-Fossi as offering sexual services in exchange for cash.
An officer posing as a client set up a meeting with Mambuscay-Fossi at an apartment building on Lackawanna Avenue. She agreed to exchange sexual services for $300, police said.
Police set up surveillance near the apartment building and spotted Mambuscay-Fossi arriving, wearing a red tracksuit that she had identified over the phone.
Officers moved in and arrested her.
Police searched her purse and found a metal grinder containing marijuana residue and multiple condoms.
Officers then searched Mambuscay-Fossi’s vehicle and found rolling papers, a plastic grinder and a baggie containing psilocybin.
Mambuscay-Fossi admitted the bag contained hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Police determined she had three prior convictions for prostitution.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on June 17 before District Judge Alyce Farrell.
