The Northampton County Elections Office is asking registered voters to apply for poll worker positions for the upcoming Municipal General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The county relies on citizen poll workers to manage fair, accurate and legal elections by checking in voters, issuing ballots and delivering returns to county officials at the end of the night, officials said.
County election staff explained that the work requires a long-day commitment, typically from 6:30 a.m. until after the polls close at 8 p.m., but all workers are paid for both their mandatory training and the Election Day service.
Compensation for serving the entire day ranges from $175 to $200. The rate depends on assignments and training. Workers who return supplies to the Government Center receive additional compensation and mileage.
Registered voters who are interested in serving as a poll worker should contact the Northampton County Elections Office by email at election@norcopa.gov or by calling 610-829-6260.
