NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. — Eligible seniors in Northampton County can soon access $25 in vouchers for fresh, local produce through the Pennsylvania Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
The Northampton County Area Agency on Aging will be distributing the vouchers in person. Officials noted that paper applications will not be processed this year.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for the program, residents must be at least 60 years old by Dec. 31, 2026, and meet specific household income guidelines.
For 2026, the income limits are:
Single person: $29,526
Married couple: $40,034
Both spouses in a married household are eligible to receive vouchers if they meet the criteria, according to officials. All applicants must present proof of age and residency at the time of distribution.
Residents unable to visit a distribution site in person may designate a proxy to collect vouchers on their behalf, the news release details.
Officials say that a completed and signed proxy form is required, and that the proxy must present identification showing the senior’s date of birth and address.
One person may serve as a proxy for a maximum of four participants.
Proxy forms are available at the Area Agency on Aging office at 2801 Emrick Blvd. in Bethlehem, at local senior centers, or online at northamptoncounty.org.
The program begins the distribution period on June 1 through Sept. 15.
Vouchers can be used at participating farmers markets from June 1 through Nov. 30.
Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and residents may only receive them once per program year, according to officials.
