Kiwanis Club of Erie presents awards to local high school seniors
Some 2026 high school graduates were recognized for their accomplishments on Thursday as they prepare for the next chapter in their lives.
The Kiwanis Club of Erie celebrated outstanding seniors from Cathedral Prep and Mercyhurst Prep at the Zem Zem Shrine Club.

Each student was given a certificate of academic excellence and a $200 check.
Two recipients said they were honored to be recognized and are looking forward to what comes next.
“I’m attending Penn State main in the fall for a Bachelor of science and psychology with my two other sisters,” said Emma Taylor, a senior at Mercyhurst Prep.
“I’ll be going to the University of Pittsburgh, where I’ll be studying biology on a pre-med track,” said Joseph Ott, a senior at Cathedral Prep.
The Kiwanis Club will be hosting student recognition luncheons every week in May.
