There was a large police presence on Queens Road on Thursday, May 14, with police tape blocking the entrance to one of the terraced houses opposite Queens Road Car Park.
Thames Valley Police have now confirmed to the Chronicle that their officers responded at 6pm to reports of a dead body at the property.
The police force said they attended the scene and have been carrying out enquiries.
The deceased was described as a man aged in his fifties.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and police said they are not treating the death as suspicious at the moment, with a file due to be prepared for the coroner.
When our reporter arrived at the scene just before 9pm yesterday evening, three police cars were parked outside the property, with officers still in attendance.
