The Erie Zoo celebrated big cats and conservation just in time for Endangered Species Day this year.
The annual Felines and Wines event has made a comeback this spring to help raise awareness to conservation efforts around big cats.

At the zoo, guests enjoyed samples from local wineries and distilleries, live music and explored the exhibits while supporting these efforts.
Training demonstrations with some of the felines gave visitors a chance to see close up moments that highlight their care and behaviors throughout the day.

“This event helps support our daily zoo operations and our animal care, but it’s also great to support our big cats because a lot of them are going extinct,” said Hali Hartley, lead manager of PR, marketing and events at the Erie Zoo.
The zoo’s next big event is a family friendly equipment day on Saturday, June 6th.
