ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Police say a child was hit by a car during a busy time of the night on Saturday.
It happened at the intersection of Hamilton and Sixth Street according to police.
Now, city officials are sending a message about safety.
On Saturday this busy intersection in Center City Allentown quickly turned into a crime scene.
According to police, a child was hit by a car.
“On Saturday I was officiating a wedding and sad to say the bride actually saw what happened and she was shaken by it,” says Cynthia Mota, Vice President of the Allentown City Council.

She says she is trying to help make the streets safer.
“We’re working really hard with public works when it comes to the infrastructure and changing the lights I mean you name it,” says Mota.
While council continues to approve funding and new projects, Mota emphasizes that drivers and pedestrians need to do their part.
“We don’t wanna see people driving fast it only takes just one moment to change a person’s life and it’s not worth it,” says Mota.
There is no word on the child’s condition, we have reached out to police for an update.
