MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa – Police in Berks County have identified the man who was killed in an industrial accident in Berks County Wednesday.
Julio Gutiérrez, 44, of Reading, died after falling into a large machine at a records management facility in Muhlenberg Township, according to township police.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office was called to Vital Records Control in the 1100 block of Commons Boulevard.
Initial emergency dispatches called for a rescue operation for a person that fell into a shredding machine.
Township police say it appears to be an accident.
Police say there have been no similar calls at the business, or anywhere else in the township.
The company cooperated with the investigation, according to township police.
Police say the company will be holding safety briefings in connection with the accident.
