READING, Pa. – The Pennsylvania primary election in Berks County is on the warmer side.
“I don’t know if I recall an election night being quite this warm,” said clerk Nadine Smet-Weiss.
Will higher temperatures impact voter turnout on a toasty primary election night?
“For this being a primary, we know the primaries are a little less popular than the fall elections,” Smet-Weiss said.
Voting organizers say the primary is often a tricky time to get people out to vote and they hope for pleasant conditions to encourage more people.
“Probably we’re having fewer people than we have in the past, at least up to this point, and I wouldn’t be surprised this weather has something to do with it,” Smet-Weiss added.
