– Morgan Wallen is dominating the country music scene with his latest album, “I’m The Problem,” but in an alternate timeline, he might’ve been dominating baseball fields instead. We’ll tell you about his unusual path to stardom in today’s episode of. (text whooshes) Oh, we didn’t say where we’re gonna point or anything. (Tyler and production crew laughing) – [Production Crew Member] We didn’t. – Growing up in Tennessee, Wallen’s primary passion was baseball, and he was pretty good too. Playing for Gibbs High School in Knoxville, Wallen was the star pitcher and shortstop. He helped his team win a state title in 2010 and drew interest from college teams. But at the start of his senior season, Wallen felt a pop in his right arm. It was a torn ligament, and he needed reconstructive surgery. All of a sudden, his dream of playing in college was over. Unsure of his future, Wallen turned to music, playing the guitar and writing songs to, as he put it, “get his feelings out.” Wallen showed promise on Season six of “The Voice” in 2014, and he’s now one of music’s biggest superstars. This past May, he set a record with 37 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Talk about being a problem for the competition.
