READING, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police with Berks County-based Troop L are reminding drivers that they will be keeping a close eye on the roads this Memorial Day weekend.
They say they will be cracking down on driving under the influence, aggressive driving, tailgating, seatbelt usage and speeding.
Troop L serves Berks, Lebanon and Schuylkill counties.
Authorities with the Pennsylvania Turnpike say work on the road will be halted Thursday ahead of Memorial Day Weekend.
Nearly 2.2 million drivers are expected to use the toll road in the days ahead. Friday should be the busiest day, with 706,000 drivers expected.
Officials say construction will be paused through Monday night to keep open as many lanes as possible.
