Dave Lefebre from Erie Pennsylvania has just won the Championship Round in the Kubota Heavy Hitters at Orange Lake in Ocala Florida. The tournaments took place from May 16 until May 21 and was presented by Bass Pro Shops.
On Qualifying Day One Lefebre was sitting at 15th place. Qualifying Day Two he bounced up to 8th place and stayed there for the Knockout Round. In the Championship Round he shot up to the top with a head-to-head competition with Ron Nelson from Berrien Springs Michigan. However, Lefebre remained on top with seven bass equaling 31 pounds three ounces.
Lefebre took home two wins on May 21 as he won the Kubota Tractor Corporation Heavy Hitters Presented by Bass Pro Shops and the Berkley Fishing Big Bass winning a total $200,000. His biggest bass weighed in a nine pounds, three ounces.
Known as one of the most successful anglers in the history of the FLW Tour and one of a small group of anglers to take home $2 million in career winnings. In total Lefebre now has seven total tour level wins.
