The Saucon Valley School District says that its National School Lunch program and School Breakfast program will continue, despite federal and state funding delays.

Pennsylvania lawmakers have not yet passed a budget, and the federal government has been in a shutdown for about a month.

“Our district is fully committed to ensuring that every student has access to nutritious meals each school day,” the district said in a message to the community.

The district says it will be able to temporarily absorb the costs of the programs while it waits for the state and federal reimbursement that normally supports it, since it is in a good financial position.

The district says it will monitor the situation closely and give updates when they are available.
