FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — First responders were recognized in Franklin County this week for their quick thinking during a cardiac arrest emergency.
Waynesboro Mayor Dade Royer honored the first responders’ life-saving efforts during Wednesday night’s borough council meeting. The person whom the first responders saved made a full recovery and was also at the meeting to thank them.
Waynesboro Police Department Officer Brandon Benedict exhibited quick thinking, dedication and professionalism during the emergency. His actions played a key role in saving the person’s life, the police department said.

Police said the emergency happened earlier this year. Waynesboro EMS, WellSpan EMS, and Waynesboro Fire Department, along with police, all rushed to the scene and were able to get the patient to a hospital.
