ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum in Allentown is celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
It held its History Expo on Saturday.
More than a dozen local historical organizations set up booths showcasing their work.
The event also featured a re-enactment of the American Revolution and exhibits with people dressed in colonial clothing.
The museum has been planning for the nation’s milestone anniversary for two years now.
“This is so important. This is our history. This is 250 years of the founding of America, so it’s a very special moment in time,” said Jill Youngken, assistant director and chief curator of the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum.
The event also featured a special appearance by former “Lassie” actor Jon Provost, and a Beatles tribute band.
