ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A man that shot and killed another man outside of a child’s birthday party in Allentown has been sentenced.
Roberto Gonzalez, 26, of Allentown, was sentenced 11.5 to 28 years in state prison on Thursday afternoon following a court appearance at the Lehigh County Courthouse.Â
Gonzalez pleaded guilty on Sept. 2 to felony charges of voluntary manslaughter, according to the DA’s office.Â
Gonzalez killed Miguel Dalmasi, 33, of Alburtis, in a dispute that happened at a birthday party for a one-year-old, the DA’s office said.
The shooting happened February 17, 2024 at East Walnut and South Dauphin streets.
Officials say Dalmasi was found dead at the scene, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.Â
A media release from the coroner’s office said that, prior to the shooting, several unknown men wearing ski masks gathered the hall where the birthday party was being held and a dispute began.
Officials said Dalmasi went outside to mediate the dispute and a fight broke out. A man, now identified as Gonzalez, pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting Dalmasi, authorities said.
Dalmasi died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide by the Lehigh County coroner.
Gonzalez was identified by witnesses, as well as video footage from area cameras, according to the press release.Â
