A shuttle service on Lake Erie is lifting its anchors Friday, offering passengers a quick route from Erie’s bayfront to Presque Isle State Park.

Starting May 22, the Presque Isle water taxis will be back on the water for the summer season, taking passengers back and forth from Dobbins Landing to the Waterworks Ferry Dock on Presque Isle.

 These Presque Isle beaches will be open for Memorial Day weekend 

For now, the taxi service will be open from 12 to 7 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer as they develop the schedule.

The captain said this marks the taxi’s second year back after returning last summer from a six-year hiatus.

Mark Scibinico, port captain of the Jettylight said, “Last year was great for us. We enjoyed seeing a lot of people coming down here and going back and forth. It’s an awesome 15 minute ride across Lake Erie, just a chance to get out on the water and a really easy, faster way to get over to the park.”

The captain said tickets can be purchased at the dock or online.
