OBITUARY
George W. Schloendorn III, 90, of Carbondale, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born December 2, 1935, in Camden, New Jersey, he was a son of the late George and Susie McCool Schloendorn.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served from 1957, until being honorably discharged in 1963.
He was a member of The American Legion Post 920, Scranton.
He married the love of his life, the former Janet Watkins. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage and raising their family.
There wasn’t anything George couldn’t do.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Schloendorn; and his sister, Susan Neff.
In addition to his loving wife, Janet, George is survived by his children, Richard Schloendorn and his wife, Margaret, Janet Wentovich and her husband, Peter, and Mark Schloendorn; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Per the families wishes, there will be no services at this time.
