(WHTM)– Flags across the Commonwealth will be flown at half-staff on Monday, starting at sunrise.

Flags across Pennsylvania will be flown at half-staff for Memorial Day on Monday and will be returned to full-staff by noon.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced that this is part of a way to honor Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day is celebrated yearly to honor U.S. military personnel who lost their lives while serving their country.

There are multiple Memorial Day parades scheduled across the Midstate on Monday.

Camp Hill residents can celebrate at 9:30 a.m., and the Mechanicsburg Area Veterans Council Parade will take place at 10 a.m.

There will also be a parade in downtown Gettysburg at 2 p.m., followed by a ceremony at Gettysburg National Cemetery at 3 p.m.

According to the Carlisle Police Department, the Memorial Day Parade has been canceled due to the weather. The ceremony that was set to occur in the Veterans’ Memorial after the parade has been moved to the Old Courthouse at 2 Courthouse Square at 10 a.m.
