EASTON, Pa. – Memorial Day events are continuing in downtown Easton.

69 News Reporter Cierra Genelle was at Riverside Park, where the city’s parade ends and the ceremony begins.

The rain stopped just in time for Easton’s Memorial Day Parade.

People waved and cheered on community leaders and veterans as they strolled down Northampton Street.

The Easton Area High School and Easton Middle School marching band also joined in on the parade.

First responders, EMS, and the Easton and Palmer fire departments played their part in the parade.

Families and children say they are enjoying their day off of work and school, and spending it downtown remembering, honoring, and mourning the fallen service members.

The event concludes a weekend of Memorial Day events downtown. Many residents also participated in a 5K run and a community bike ride.
