WEST READING, Pa. – A retaining wall in West Reading collapsed earlier today.
Police are asking everyone to avoid the area between the Candlewood Suites and a rear parking lot behind the 200 block of Penn Avenue. That’s near Franklin Street and South Second Avenue.
Police say engineers are assessing the damage.
It’s not clear if today’s wet, windy weather may have been a factor.
The mayor issued a limited emergency declaration to speed up work in the area.
